Optimizing your 3D presentation ensures that your patrons have the absolute best 3D experience.  

Two key factors in a great 3D presentation are brightness and stereo contrast, which can be affected by the condition of your silver screen and port windows and the cleanliness and set-up of the 3D projection system.  

We are pleased to offer a suite of quick, easy quality tests, including test DCPs and instructions which will allow you to identify potential issues and address them.  

 3D Depolarization 

3D Stereo Contrast can be affected by the condition of the Silver Screen and/or internal stress in the Port Window glass.  The resulting depolarization of the 3D image can result in ghosting and a compromised 3D effect.  The link below provides instructions and a test DCP to check your Silver Screen and Port window. 

System Cleanliness 

A small amount of dust or dirt on optical surfaces has minimal effect on image quality, but thick layers of dust and smudges/films will scatter light and reduce light throughput.  The link below provides instructions and a video on cleaning The RealD Cinema Systems. 

Quality 3D Presentation 

Several other factors can affect the 3D Presentation Quality.  RealD has created test DCPs to support verifying the 3D system is set-up correctly and working properly.  The link below provides RealD’s System Test DCPs and instructions for using them.
