RealD distributes approximately 18 million pairs of 3D glasses annually in the United States and Canada, and employs a comprehensive process to collect, and reuse or recycle as many of these as possible.

Currently, RealD is receiving only 50% of those glasses back from your theaters, leaving the other 50% going to waste.

There are 3 key factors in maximizing glasses returns:

  1. Messaging to the Patrons

  2. Quantity and Placement of RealD collection bins

  3. Returning used glasses to RealD for Recycling

Please help in RealD’s efforts to get more glasses returned and recycled. 

 Messaging to Patrons 

On screen reminders, in-theater signage and verbally reminding patrons to place used RealD 3D glasses in the RealD collection bins.

Quality and Placement of Collection Bins 

Having 2 bins, strategically placed, at the exit of each 3D auditorium can increase returns.

Returning Used RealD 3D Glasses to RealD For Recycling

RealD provides return shipping boxes with pre-paid UPS labels. Support for making this process as easy as possible is available.
